The Arts
The visual and performing arts programs encompass a variety of cultural and historical aspects. The focus is on the creative expression of students, by fostering self-esteem and coordinating group interaction. Each program follows California State Guidelines for the visual and performing arts. Critical thinking, problem solving, listening analytically, and learning the fundamentals are emphasized extensively throughout the grades.
Integration is also an important aspect of the visual and performing arts program. Lower School classroom teachers and the visual and performing arts teachers work closely to develop projects that enhance the understanding and the learning experience. Small, curriculum based productions are presented throughout the year in the Lower School.
