School Hours
Lower School (Grades K-4)
Lower School classes begin at 8:15 a.m. and the school day ends at 3:00 p.m. Please Note: Kindergarten students attend from 8:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. from September 8 through September 17. Full day classes for kindergarten begin on Monday, September 20.
 
Middle and Upper Schools (Grades 5-12)
School begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. most days. Wednesday is a shorten day for all students, with classes ending at 2:25 p.m. Students may avail themselves of faculty office hours from 2:25 until 3:00 p.m. on Wednesdays. For fifth and sixth grades only, the day ends at 3:00 p.m. on Thursdays.
 
Summer Reading
2010-11 Summer Reading Lists for rising grades K-12 will be posted on the Laguna Blanca School website by mid-June.
 
Summer Mailings
The School and divisions send out information on July 1 and August 1 regarding the start of school. Please be watching for these packets and contact the Lower School office at 805.695.8143 or Middle/Upper Office at 805.687.2461 if you do not receive this information.
 
Bus Transportation and Carpool Information
Laguna offers bus service (2009-10) on a subscription basis in the mornings and afternoons between the Lower School and Hope Ranch campuses. Laguna offers morning only bus service on a subscription basis from the Santa Ynez Valley area. You will receive information about signing up for this service in the summer mailings.
 
Laguna tries to assist families in establishing carpools by offering information on those living in your zip code.
 
Lunch Program
Laguna has a Fresh Lunch Program available on a subscription basis; Laguna does not have a cafeteria. The lunch program is offered three days per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) on the Lower School campus and five days per week on the Middle/Upper campus. Menus and sign-up information will be available in the summer mailings. Links are provided to menu samples from this year for Lower School and Middle/Upper Schools.  
 
Books
Grades K-6
The School provides all books and classroom supplies. The School provides specific information regarding suggested backpacks, shoes, etc. in the summer mailings.
 
Grades 7-12
After July 15, 2010, students may find a complete list of required books at www.varsitybooks.com. Books may be purchased from Varsity Books or any vendor of your choice. Please ensure you have the correct course name, teacher, and ISBN number BEFORE purchasing textbooks. If you anticipate your child’s schedule changing, it may be best to delay purchasing the textbook(s) until the selected coursework is finalized.
