Greetings!
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Laguna Blanca School. As I embark on my second decade at LBS, I feel a tremendous sense of optimism and excitement about our future course. This is particularly so given the exceptional group of students, families, faculty and staff we have assembled for 2008-2009, and the fact that this past year, our milestone 75th anniversary, historic progress was achieved in advancing designs to meaningfully upgrade both campuses as well as to implement added key elements of the School’s strategic plan. Laguna Blanca is an enriched, dynamic and flourishing community that creates untold opportunities for young people, developing character and a host of aptitudes, as well as celebrating the joy of discovery and the reward of hard-earned success.
We offer a comprehensive and challenging college preparatory course of study in a highly supportive and individualized environment, and make it our top priority to attract and retain the finest educator-role models. Laguna enrolls a capable and motivated group of young people whose broad-ranging interests, talents and backgrounds help to shape our distinctive School culture.
Set on two splendid campuses situated nine-and-a-half miles apart on either side of Santa Barbara, Laguna Blanca is committed to the connectedness of our three divisions and the integration of our K-12 curriculum. We value highly and rely heavily on the close partnership we nurture with our parents. We are a School that cherishes tradition, inspires innovation, and effectively prepares students for a lifetime of success.
As you journey through these pages, you will experience Laguna’s wonderfully complex, dedicated, and uplifting community. I invite you to further explore a Laguna Blanca education. Our open and engaged intellectual atmosphere is a direct result of the unique relationship forged between LBS teachers and students, an intangible that can best be appreciated by visiting our school and speaking to our students and teachers in person. I encourage you to visit the Laguna community to see for yourself the relationships and resources that are its strength. After just one visit to either of our campuses, you will understand why nearly 100 percent of prospective families choose to apply.
