Students Join Laguna’s Artist in Residence Cassandria Blackmore to Create One-of-a-Kind Auction Items

We are excited to announce that world renowned artist Cassandria Blackmore will be leading our students through a series of unique art projects this winter. A Laguna parent of two, Blackmore has generously volunteered to work hand-in-hand with students in grades EK-4 to create unique pieces of art that will be featured and sold at Laguna’s Spring Benefit, “An Evening of Glamour, Dance & Vice,” on Saturday, February 27.

An astonishingly talented artist who sees the world through a different lens, Cassandria Blackmore is most well known for her unconventional approach to reverse painting. Her career has been nothing short of meteoric with her work collected internationally and exhibited in galleries and museums across the country.

In addition to her time, Cassandria will be donating a piece of her widely collected work to be featured in the Spring Benefit’s live auction. Joining Cassandria, world famous artist Russell Young, who directed Laguna’s stunning class projects last year, will also be donating a piece of his work to Laguna’s live auction. Save the date and join us for a preview of Cassandria’s work in her historic Santa Barbara studio on Thursday, February 4, 6-8 PM. Invitation to follow.
