Laguna Alum Spencer Dusebout Invites Laguna Community to Walk 4 Water on March 19

Leading by example is often easier in theory than in practice, but you wouldn’t know that by looking at Laguna alumnus Spencer Dusebout ’11. He was recently featured as a TED X speaker at Oaks Christian School where he spread his message that youth can do anything – and that by “taking ideas and following through with them, we will make an incredible impact on the world.” Though only in his early twenties, Spencer stands on good authority to say this.

While a high school student at Laguna, Spencer founded Hands 4 Others, a local non-profit that brings access to clean drinking water to communities around the world. Under his guidance, H4O has flourished, building a national presence while raising enough funds to provide and install over 50 water filtration systems, serving clean water to more than 200,000 people globally.

Though fundraising efforts are in full throttle year round, H4O’s biggest event is just around the corner. Spencer will be holding H4O’s Third Annual Walk 4 Water on Saturday, March 19 to celebrate World Water Day. Last year alone, Walk 4 Water saw over 500 participants and raised over $100,000 to help bring access to clean drinking water to communities in need. This year he aims to shatter both numbers.

This year’s walk will be a 2.5 mile trek that begins and ends across the street from Chase Palm Park in Santa Barbara. The walk will start at 10am with registration kicking off at 9AM.
