Public Health has deemed COVID-19 testing to be a valid mitigation measure for the identification of disease and prevention of transmission. Laguna Blanca School guidance from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and Santa Barbara County Public Health around COVID-19 testing. Laguna Blanca provides over-the-counter tests at no cost to families before each long break, or at any point upon request. 
 
Laguna Blanca School has engaged in a collaborative local partnership with Aptitude Labs for saliva specimen Nucleic Acid Amplification COVID-19 testing, which is available to all students, faculty, and staff at no cost.
 
Laguna Blanca staff who have tested positive for COVID-19 must test negative on or after Day 5 from symptom onset to return to work with the use of a mask around others for the duration of the 10-day timeframe or can return to work on day 11 with no symptoms.
Staff with close contact exposure must test during the 3-5 day window following exposure with the use of a mask around others for 10 days.

According to health recommendations, Laguna Blanca students exposed to COVID-19 will be notified by the school with instructions for a 3-5 day testing period. Students who remain symptom-free may remain in school.
 
Potential outbreaks are reported for sites with three or more staff cases of COVID-19 over 14 days, sites with identified groups that have 10% positivity over 14 days and/or when a 5% of a site’s total population is positive over a 14-day period. Laguna Blanca provides notification of potential exposure to those who shared indoor airspace for 15 minutes or longer with a COVID-19-positive person during the infectious period. Laguna Blanca notifies staff of worksite exposure to COVID-19 and when staff is known by the school to be a close contact. In times of observed community transmission elevation, Laguna may provide the community or identified group an “Exposure Letter” in lieu of individual exposure notifications while maintaining worksite notification compliance per Cal/OSHA and AB 2693 for staff.
