Students in the Humanities Research Program presented their capstone projects in Isham Library last week, sharing the culmination of two years of inquiry, exploration, and intellectual growth. The program invites students to explore a broad range of ideas across literature, the arts, history, philosophy, politics, science, and contemporary issues before developing and completing a capstone research project.  For this year’s projects, students investigated pressing questions about democracy and immigration to technology, medicine, music, and human connection. 

The capstones become a bridge between classroom study and the world beyond it, where disciplines are not separate silos, but overlapping lenses for making sense of what it means to be human. The experience culminates in a public presentation that showcases each student’s growth, curiosity, and voice. Explore each project presentation below and click to hear a few students reflect on their research.
