Laguna Mock Trial Team to Compete at Santa Barbara Courthouse on February 22

After nearly five long months of legal preparation and working with local attorneys who volunteer their time, Laguna Blanca’s Mock Trial Team—a student club open to grades 9-12—will once again head to the historic Santa Barbara Courthouse on Saturday, February 22 for the annual all-day Santa Barbara County Mock Trial competition.

The extracurricular program is led by Assistant to the Head of School Jessica Tyler, who holds a Juris Doctor degree, as well as returning attorney coaches Annie Hayes, Parent Neil Levinson, and Alumni Parent Dawn O’Donnell. New this year, the team had the pleasure of working with Alumni parents Stephen and Carol King. The students will serve as defenders, prosecutors, witnesses, clerk, unofficial timer and bailiff in a murder trial featuring a pretrial argument on the Fourth Amendment.

Best of luck to the following members of this year’s Mock Trial team!
