Community Service
FROM LOWER SCHOOL TO GRADUATION
At Laguna Blanca, Community is one of our core values. From your first days in Lower School, you learn to be a “Swooper Citizen,” exploring values like caring, kindness, and patience, and putting them into action through service projects. In Fourth Grade, you will take part in the Citizenship Breakfast, where you reflect on what it means to be a good citizen and honor those who embody respect, responsibility, and fairness.
In Middle School, you are encouraged to get involved in service both on and off campus. Use the Community Service Form below to track your hours for volunteer work that benefits others. You can join drives and student-led projects like the CASA Holiday Gift Drive or even participate in Upper School service clubs.
In Upper School, you will have the chance to volunteer with local nonprofits such as Hearts Therapeutic and Direct Relief, join or lead service-focused clubs, and take part in programs like Peer Buddies or the Mentorship Program. You will need 16 hours of service to graduate, and opportunities are posted on the Community Service board.
Humanitas Service Award
The Humanitas Service Award celebrates Laguna Blanca students in grades 7–12 who lead with empathy, compassion, and purpose through meaningful service. Replacing the paused Presidential Student Volunteer Service Award, this program honors the impact you make, both on campus and in the wider community, through volunteer efforts that benefit others. With recognition levels at 30, 75, and 150 hours of service, the Humanitas Award highlights not just your time, but the spirit of humanity and leadership that defines what it means to be a Laguna student.
