Laguna’s Development team is responsible for all programs related to annual giving, capital, major and special gifts, planned giving, and gifts-in-kind. The office is also responsible for alumni relations and several community and campus events.
Marcy has worked in Laguna's development office since 2008 as Associate Director of Development overseeing major gifts and alumni relations. She earned her bachelor's degree in Sociology from UC Santa Barbara, and has more than 15 years of professional fundraising experience, including five years as Director of Annual Giving at UCLA Anderson School of Management and six years at Direct Relief International.
Marcy and her husband are proud Laguna parents of Ally '24 and Charlie '20. She knows our community well and is an enthusiastic, cheerful, and tireless supporter of Laguna Blanca.
Cynthia has an extensive background in marketing, advertising, and event coordination, including Laguna’s 2016 Spring Benefit. Prior to her move to California in 2014 with her husband Brian and two sons, Brian '20 and Cole '22, Cynthia served as Project Coordinator for Bluewater Consulting Group. Her other roles include Marketing Consultant for McGrath System/Oxford Legal and Cobblestones Fine Gifts & Home Décor in Pennsylvania. While in these roles, Cynthia was responsible for organization and management of special in-store events and promotions, social media, public relations, and website expansion. As a parent volunteer at Laguna, Cynthia served as Chair of our 2016 Spring Benefit and worked extensively with 25+ volunteers and many staff members to orchestrate the magnificent event that raised over $600,000 for our school.
Functioning as a member of the development team, Cynthia supports the goals of the development office by planning, implementing, and managing all aspects of annual fundraising events, including the Fall Jogathon, Spring Benefit, and signature alumni outreach events. Cynthia also serves as the primary liaison between the school, the Parents’ Auxiliary, and the parent community.
Assistant Director of Donor and Database Management
Born and raised in Ventura County, Blaire is returning to her roots after 15 years in San Diego and is thrilled to be joining the Laguna Blanca Development team. After working in corporate accounting for Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf and Jack in the Box, she ventured into the fundraising world and is coming to us after 11 years with The Bishop’s School in La Jolla where she served as the Advancement Services Coordinator.
Danielle comes to Santa Barbara from the east coast with a background in higher education development, alumni relations, and event coordination. As a member of Laguna’s development team, she oversees the Laguna Fund, special gift programs, and alumni relations. Prior to joining Laguna, Danielle specialized in international and major gift fundraising at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE) and Harvard University’s central development office. Working with donors, prospects, and alumni domestically as well as in Latin America, the Middle East, India, China, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia, she supported strategy development, implementation, and the acquisition of funding for HGSE and University-wide initiatives. Danielle has a B.A. in Political Science with minors in French and International Relations from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Master’s of Liberal Arts in Management from Harvard University.
Born and raised in Santa Barbara, Rachel is a recent graduate from San Diego State University with a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies in Psychology, Sociology, and Women’s Studies and is excited to join Laguna’s Development team. She studied abroad at Universität Bielefeld in Germany where she had the opportunity to study Sociology and travel to 11 different countries. At SDSU, Rachel was highly involved on campus as Vice President and Social Chair of Global Aztec Alliance, a student organization dedicated to promoting cross-cultural communication and intercultural exchange. She was also involved in SafeZones, National Society of Leadership and Success, and SDSU Entrepreneurial Society. Rachel brings to Laguna her experience in customer service, social media marketing, event and meeting coordination, campus and community collaboration, and intercultural communication, as well as a passion for people, cultures, diversity, and inclusion.
