Hosted by the Office of Development & Alumni Relations, Laguna Blanca’s annual Senior to Alumni Luncheon is a longstanding tradition that honors the graduating class and officially welcomes them into the school’s alumni community.
Held the day before commencement, this year's luncheon featured guest speaker Mark Ungerer ’05, who shared reflections on his path from Laguna student to global tech leader. As a student, Mark was a member of the jazz band and served as captain of both the soccer and tennis teams. After graduating from Laguna, he went on to earn an engineering degree from Princeton and has since built a dynamic international career in the tech industry. His work has taken him from China to San Francisco and, ultimately, back to Santa Barbara, where he now serves as Chief Product Officer at Skylight.
In his remarks, he emphasized that being a Laguna Blanca alum is a statistically rare and meaningful privilege ("1 in 4 million")—one that comes with both the joy of lifelong community and the opportunity to use one’s education and experiences to give back and make a positive impact in the world.
It was a fitting send-off for the Class of 2025 as they prepare to take their next steps and join a vibrant, supportive community of Laguna alumni around the world.
