Laguna Inducts Nine Students into Esteemed Cum Laude Society

Nine recipients were honored at a ceremony in Spaulding Theatre on Wednesday, 4/25 for demonstrating academic excellence (top 10% of junior class, top 20% of senior class), good character, honor, and integrity in all aspects of school life. Students who were inducted as Juniors in 2017 presented the new members with a certificate and a Cum Laude Society pin.

Keynote Speaker and 2008 Alumnus Nick Behrman congratulated the newest inductees and shared some of the qualities of successful scholars. He also highlighted that his Laguna classmates—now golf course developers, Ph.D.s, M.D.s, entrepreneurs, and more—have continually inspired him to achieve greatness. Currently practicing law in Santa Barbara at Buynak, Fauver, Archbald & Spray, and LLP, Nick credits Laguna for helping him to develop his leadership skills through his work in student government and as ASB President. "I cherish the relationships I formed with students and faculty—many that still exist today," he adds.

After the ceremony, the honorees and their families celebrated over lunch in the Ruston Amphitheatre.
