Thirty Students Honored with President's Volunteer Service Awards

FULL LIST OF STUDENT HONOREES

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Laguna Blanca recognizing students with the President’s Volunteer Service Award—an honor that celebrates the contributions of volunteers and acknowledges individuals whose service positively impacts their communities. This year, we recognized 30 students who earned this prestigious award for their community service between April 2024 and April 2025. These students dedicated their time, talents, and energy to helping others, collectively contributing 3,982 hours of service. Their volunteer efforts included working with conservation centers, the Wildlife Care Network, the Santa Barbara Zoo, Flower Empower, serving as counselors-in-training at summer camps, and more.

To earn an award, service must be completed in a 12-month period, and earning these awards varies according to your age.

Teens from ages 11-15 who complete 50 hours in a 12-month period earn a bronze award. For 75 hours, they earn a silver, and, if they volunteer 100 hours or more, they receive a gold award.

The number of hours needed to earn awards increases once a volunteer turns 16 and is then considered a Young Adult. They will need to complete 100 hours for a bronze, 175 hours for a silver, and 250 hours for a gold award.

This is the perfect time to start completing these hours to be recognized this time next year!
