Welcome, Families!

All of our events at Laguna rely on volunteers to make them fun and successful. As a member of the Family Association, see how you can get involved!

What does the Family Association do?

List of 10 items.

  • Family Association Overview

As family members or guardians of a Laguna Blanca student, you are automatically a member of the Family Association. Our goal is to create an enriched campus life for students, families, and faculty. We support all these areas with events, enrichment programs, and fundraising.
  • Family Association Lunch & Learn

The Family Association holds informal, informative meetings every other month during the school calendar year. These "Lunch & Learn" meetings are a great way to get the big picture of what’s going on at Laguna Blanca. The agenda typically includes reports from the head of school and features a guest speaker from the school or our community. Questions or concerns about school-related issues can also be freely discussed. A delicious lunch is provided and all are welcome.
  • Family Association Interest Groups

The newly reimagined Family Association will create a more inclusive community that will include interest-focused groups to benefit the school and families. These teams can engage families from all divisions and create a strong community across all grades.

    INTEREST GROUPS
    Friends of Athletics and Arts
    A Taste of Santa Barbara
    Hiking and Walking Group
    Community Service Group
    Campus Beautification Group
    Mentorship Group
    Business Networking Group

Want to get involved? Email VP/Interest Groups Yumi Bollag.
  • Lunch Volunteer Program

Volunteers help serve delicious, healthy catered lunches to hungry students. Servers are always needed!
  • Employee Appreciation

Laguna’s hard-working faculty and staff enjoy periodic brunches, luncheons, or coffee breaks provided by Association volunteers. Family donations of funds and food support these popular—and much deserved—events.
  • Laguna Wear

This year’s line of Laguna Wear features stylish spirit wear including hats, hoodies, tees and more—all quality items emblazoned with the Laguna Blanca name. The perfect gift for students, parents, grandparents, neighbors, and friends – wear the Laguna name with pride and a great sense of fashion!
  • Spirit of Laguna-Jogathon & Family Festival (October)

Enjoy a fun run, live music, food trucks, and student-run booths. This event is a culmination of Spirit Week as well as the kick-off the Laguna Fund, Laguna's annual fundraising program.

Volunteers along with the Development team, plan this all-school community event. EK-12 students raise money for all the special programs at Laguna by participating in the fun run. The Family Festival showcases Laguna's outstanding programs - arts, theater, STEM, robotics, TEDx, humanities, and much more!

Student clubs host carnival booths raising awareness for their respective local and national charities. This event

Bring the whole family and enjoy The Spirit of Laguna!
  • Spring Benefit

The Spring Benefit is an evening for parents of students, alumni, and friends of Laguna Blanca to enjoy themselves in supporting the school. The Family Association works with the Development Office to plan the thematic event, secure sponsorships, and create an event to remember.
  • Class Parties, Snacks, & Social Events

Division chairs and class representatives work with teachers, students, and other volunteers on student activities, class parties, snacks, entertainment, and other enjoyable school events.
  • Student Social Activities & Campus Spirit

With extra help from volunteers, Laguna Blanca class representatives also help coordinate dances, parties, off-campus adventures and other special events during the year.

Ways to get involved

  • Come to the monthly Family Association Lunch & Learns. Attire is strictly come-as-you-are, and a delicious lunch is provided. This monthly meeting is truly one of the best and easiest ways to meet other parents and be in the know on up-to-the-minute Laguna news.

  • Volunteer! The Family Association always, always, always needs fresh faces and enthusiasm to complement the faithful and fabulous parents who are already involved. If you see an event or program that you’d like to help with (even just a little), call the event chair (or come to any FA meeting) for information. To find out about volunteer opportunities, email the Family Association President.

  • Buy some spirit wear from the Owl Store for your kids, your friends, your relatives, and yourself. Wear it with pride!

  • The Spirit of Laguna Jogathon & Family Festival in October is a very enjoyable all-school event and a great introduction to the kind of high-quality events that make Laguna—and the Family Association—so extraordinary. Your help is needed to make this amazing event happen – come pour water, cheer on the kids and enjoy a family festival after the running ends. Kids have the opportunity to raise funds for the athletic department by running laps and obtaining pledges. This event also kicks off the annual Laguna Fund.

  • Show your Owl Pride! Get into the spirit of Laguna by taking part in the annual Homecoming each fall. In fact, cheering for the Owls at any sporting event during the year is a wonderful way to be a part of the school.

  • It takes tons of creativity and connections to put together the fabulous annual spring benefit. Parents are the ones who obtain items and donate goods to be auctioned for the benefit of the school...and parents are the ones who make the event a huge success, year after year. To volunteer for the auction, email Marcy Jacobs in the Development Office.
