Character Development

Our purpose is to create an atmosphere in which important qualities of character are understood, modeled, valued, and practiced. We aim to have our students grow to be caring, giving, and purposeful citizens in our world by guiding and supporting their decision-making skills. These are the basic keys of citizenship for our Lower School, held together by a circle of caring.

Lessons and "Tecolote Tips" are shared with the students weekly at the Lower School assembly called "Tecolote Tuesday." The tips follow larger themes that make up our character education program, including:

  • Organization
  • Attentiveness & Respect
  • Courage
  • Trust
  • Persistence,
  • Positive Attitude
  • Flexibility
  • Generosity
  • Responsibility

* TECOLOTE: The Spanish word for Owl, which is our school mascot.

TIP OF THE WEEK: "CREATIVITY"

To be creative, search for ways to make things better! Be a problem solver.
