Laguna juniors are invited by their peer students from Thacher School and Cate School to College Case Studies Day on April 16th. The event gives students in-depth experience with the college application process under the guidance of visiting admissions officers from 50 colleges and universities across the country. The event offers students entering into the process a glimpse at the types of decisions that go into evaluating candidates.

The event gives students in-depth experience with the college application process under the guidance of visiting admissions officers from 50 colleges and universities across the country. The event offers students entering into the process a glimpse at the types of decisions that go into evaluating candidates.
The program asks each junior to play the part of an admission officer. Students receive three mock applications and must read them and decide who they want to admit. When they arrive for Case Studies, they are paired with other students and a dean or director to create a mock admissions committee. With their fellow committee members, they then decide who to admit, who to deny, and who to waitlist, with the caveat that only one can be admitted.
